ALS Support in Rock Falls, Illinois: Byron Robinson’s Ongoing Fight
What started as a shoulder injury from softball became something far more serious. The pain lingered. Weeks turned into months. Scan after scan, doctor after doctor, the questions kept piling up, until a neurologist gave Byron the answer no one hopes for. ALS.
Byron Robinson was diagnosed at just 38 years old. He’s now 40, trached and ventilated, relying on full time support. But ALS hasn’t erased his presence. It hasn’t stolen his impact.
He’s a father, a partner, and a loved one in a big blended family that shows up for him every day. Their laughter still fills the room, even on the hardest days. So does their fear. And so does their faith. Byron’s still here and that means everything.
Let Hope Grow is currently raising funds to support Byron’s care and daily needs. Every donation brings his family one step closer to focusing on connection rather than survival.
They aren’t asking for a miracle. They’re asking for breathing room, space to be present, to love each other well, and to honor the life Byron is still living.
