Byron’s story began with what looked like a softball injury to his shoulder. It lingered. The pain stuck around longer than it should have. More doctors, more tests, more scans. Finally, a neurologist gave him the news no one wants to hear. It was ALS.
Since that diagnosis, things have changed quickly. Byron is now trached and on a ventilator. He’s 40 years old and surrounded by a large blended family that loves him deeply. They’re walking through every hard day together. The laughter still shows up. So does the fear. So does the grace.
Let Hope Grow is raising funds to support Byron’s care, his equipment, his family’s needs, and the everyday pressures that build when ALS becomes part of your world.
His family isn’t asking for miracles. They’re asking for breathing room. They want to focus on love, not logistics. Byron is still here. His presence still means everything.
